Comments

CRP is normally present as a trace constituent of serum or
plasma. It may be useful as a marker when used together with traditional
clinical laboratory evaluation of acute coronary
syndrome

Intended Use

High Sensitivity CRP assay may add to the predictive value of
other markers used to assess the risk of cardiovascular and peripheral
vascular disease.

Limitations

Increases in CRP values are non-specific. CRP is an indicator
of a wide range of disease processes and should not be interpreted without
a complete clinical history. When using CRP to assess risk of
cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease, measurements should be
compared to previous results. Recent medical events resulting in tissue
injury, infections or inflammation, which may cause elevated CRP levels,
should also be considered when interpreting results; Measuring range: 0.2
to 100 mg/L.
